The sole purpose of our separately-incorporated not-for-profit Foundation is to provide support to Rose Villa residents who may have outlived their financial resources through no fault of their own. Toward the end of a long and productive life, even with the best planning and saving, economic circumstances can change. Our own residents realized this long ago – but also knew that by working together, we can face any challenge head on.
Sometimes people unexpectedly experience serious and long-term health care needs that could deplete even the healthiest bank balance. The magic of the Foundation is that, if this does happen, the resident remains in the neighborhood he or she has lived in for decades, with friends, spouses, familiar staff, all the comforts and routine of home. This is only possible through the generosity of their neighbors – all the Rose Villa residents who have donated so much over so many decades.
The Foundation has supported hundreds of residents over the almost 50 years it has existed and because the Foundation receives significant resident support, we are secure in our commitment to help those in need for many years to come.
Governed by a dedicated board of residents and community members, the Foundation’s assets are professionally managed to grow to meet future needs. To cultivate support and awareness, the Foundation holds several special events as fundraisers each year, including a Spring Silent Auction and Fall Festival & Bazaar. The summer Farmer’s Market and Treasure House Resale Shop provide continual support throughout the year.
The Rose Villa Foundation is a vital element of our established, sustainable community and is a great example of our partnership and commitment to our neighbors and to the future.
